Seattle is fortunate to have some first class jazz clubs, Jazz Alley and Tula's have been long-time constants on the Seattle jazz scene. In Pioneer Square, The New Orleans Cafe hosts several weekly regular local jazz groups. Bake's Place now at Providence Point in Issaquah presents well-known performers in a cozy, intimate setting. Recently a new club, The Triple Door, has joined the ranks of Seattle's entertainment clubs, providing a state of the art 40's style cabaret ambience. Musicians from all over the world know these clubs and love to play them. They have been called some of the nicest venues in the entire country. So, get out there and support them!

John Dimitriou's Jazz Alley is one of the premier nightclubs in the country. Featuring the best jazz and blues artists from around the world, an outstanding sound system, good food, in a spacious and relaxing setting.  There are two levels, lots of seating, a dark and dramatic atmosphere and free parking across the alley.  Most acts run Tuesday through Sunday with various special events occurring on Monday nights.  There are two shows per night on the weekends, with underage enthusiasts welcome to all but the Friday and Saturday late shows. More about Jazz Alley here.  Check Jazz Alley's hours, reservations and covers.

Jazz is played seven nights a week at this attractive venue.  Often there are students stopping by to jam Sunday nights. Groups sometimes have rehearsals here before heading to the studio.  Several vocal jam sessions also take place here. The newest supper club in town is the result of efforts from the Yoders, owners of the pan-Asian restaurant, Wild Ginger. They created The Triple Door on the site of the many-storied old Embassy Theater. The room is reminiscent of swank cabarets in the 40's and 50's and with its sloping floor to the stage, there isn't a bad seat in the room. Owner Craig Baker started his club to fill a niche of presenting jazz in a more intimate setting. The first incarnation was in a Redmond neighborhood and for over 4 years, quality jazz was presented in a near "private party" environment. Since opening the new Bake's Place, a restaurant has become part of the package and Craig promises, "We're offering great music and quality entertainment at a reasonable price." The Art of Jazz series occurs on the 2nd Thursday of each month in SAM's lobby. Musicians from around the area as well as those on national tour have been appearing over ten season now. Admission is free with museum entrance. KPLU rebroadcasts the performance on the following Saturday during Jim Wilke's Jazz Northwest.

In the heart of historic Pioneer Square sits a little cajun gem. The food is hot and so is the jazz. Regular bands include the groups of Ham Carson, Floyd Standifer, and Garfield High's Clarence Acox. The atmosphere is casual but hopping.
